In 1903, AJ Tomlinson climbed the mountain to meet God. He climbed down the mountain with a plan to transform a group of Pentecostals into a 700,000 member church. Ambrose Jessup Tomlinson marked the spot where he received the prophecy. We started the Church of God of Prophecy and built the world’s largest ten commandments. 5’x4′ letters on a hill write out the commandments.
He began construction on the Field of the Woods in the 1940s and the construction continued after his death. The park contains a large baptismal pool, a recreation of Golgatha and Jesus’ tomb.
