Love my biscuits sopped in gravy

Galax, Virginia, has been the gathering place of fiddlers and fans annually since 1935. On the second week of August, people travel with their instruments and homes on wheels and get to the fest along with about 30,000 other people.

Some come to play and even compete for thousands of dollars, some sell their wares, some come to camp and party. Some come to play with small groups scattered around the park and some come to dance.

It was established to keep the old-time music, the love of bluegrass, and the sounds of fiddles and dulcimers in the public eye. The festival crew is delighted that many of the competitors are young and will keep up the tradition.
