The Kentucky Derby is a horse race and the first leg of the Triple Crown. Annually in May, about 160,000 people gather to drink, party, and depending on where you are, see the two minute race. The rich get seats on one side of the track, and everyone can pack in the infield for general admission. Traditionally, everyone dresses up with women wearing large elaborate hats. The main drink is mint julep.
I attended in 2013 where it rained, unrelenting the entire day, and 2014, which was sunny and packed.
